Some recipes are memorable because they taste great. Others are memorable because they change your life a little.
These Korean barbecue ribs happen to be both.
When I first started sharing recipes online, I had no idea what would resonate with people. Like many creators, I was posting recipes simply because I loved food and wanted to share what I was cooking at home. Then I posted these Korean barbecue ribs.
The response was immediate.
The recipe quickly became one of my first viral recipes and helped introduce thousands of people to my page. Years later, it's still one of the dishes followers ask me about the most. After making them countless times, I can confidently say they're just as good now as they were then.
These ribs are everything you want from Korean-inspired barbecue: sweet, savory, sticky, caramelized, and incredibly tender. They're easy enough for a weekend dinner but impressive enough for a backyard barbecue or special occasion.
Ingredients
3 lbs flanken style short ribs
Sesame seeds and green onion for garnish

Salt to taste
Blended mixture
1 korean pear
½ onion
10-12 cloves garlic
1 inch knob ginger

1. Mix together ingredients for marinade and blended mixture in a large container. Add rinsed Korean short ribs to marinade and marinate 4 hours or preferably overnight.
2. Grill: Over medium high heat, grill ribs 3-4 minutes per side. Turn and flip a few times to ensure it doesn’t burn. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Oven: Bake on top rack 400 degrees 12-14 minutes flipping once. Broil for 1-2 minutes.
