Easy Ensymada

Perfect for breakfast or as an afterschool treat, there’s nothing quite like a buttery and cheesy Filipino ensymada. Like a lot of Filipino desserts it combines the flavors of sweet and savory.

Ingredients

12 pack King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

4 oz softened salted butter

2 tbsp sugar

1 dash vanilla extract

1. For the frosting I mixed together half a stick of softened butter, half a container of softened cream cheese, about 2 heaping tbsp of sugar and a dash of vanilla extract.

2. Spread onto the sweet rolls, I topped each with a heaping handful of finely shredded white cheddar. The saltiness in the cheese helps balance the creaminess and sweetness of the frosting and bread!
