Easy Rotisserie Chicken Sisig

In the Philippines, pulutan refers to small, flavorful dishes that are typically enjoyed alongside drinks or shared at gatherings. Think of them as Filipino-style tapas. Savory, often a little tangy, and always crave-worthy, pulutan is a not what you would consider an easy weeknight meal.

This easy rotisserie chicken sisg, however, is an easy weeknight pulutan that brings all the bold, sizzling flavors of classic sisig straight to your dinner table. Using whatever leftover rotisserie chicken you have, it’s tossed with The Tastebud Calamansi BBQ Sauce. This recipe is fast, flavorful, and perfect for sharing, or just enjoying all to yourself.


Ingredients

3 cups shredded rotisserie chicken

1 small onion, finely diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 small red or green chili, chopped (adjust to spice preference)

3 tbsp The Tastebud Calamansi BBQ Sauce

2 tbsp mayonnaise

1-2 tbsp butter or oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

Chopped green onions, for garnish

Crushed chicharron or crispy shallots, for topping (optional)

Egg yolk or fried egg, for serving (optional)

1. Remove bones, then chop or shred chicken into small pieces.

2. In a pan over medium heat, melt butter. Sauté garlic, onion, and chili until fragrant.

3. Stir in the chopped chicken. Cook for 3–5 minutes until lightly crisp at the edges.

4. Add Calamansi BBQ Sauce. Toss until evenly coated.

5. Turn off heat and stir in mayo until glossy and creamy. Adjust with salt and pepper.

6. Transfer to a hot sizzling plate, crack an egg on top, and let it cook in the residual heat.

7. Top with sliced chilies, green onions, or crispy shallots.
